🎄 Meet the Cummings Family — KOVH Foundation’s First “Adopt a Veteran Family” for Christmas 2025!

This holiday season, the KOVH Foundation is proud to launch our 2025 Adopt a Veteran Family for Christmas program — a heartfelt initiative bringing hope, joy, and relief to veteran families who have served our nation and now find themselves facing tough times.

Each adopted family reminds us why our mission matters: to keep our veterans and their loved ones housed, supported, and surrounded by community. And this year, we’re honored to introduce the very first family in our 2025 program — the Cummings Family.

They’re living proof that grit, humor, and caffeine can get you through just about anything… even raising teens and surviving football season in a house divided between Michigan and Ohio.

⚔️ Meet Jason — The Veteran, the Dad, the Ohio Fan

Jason is a medically retired Army veteran who’s survived two Middle Eastern deployments and two overseas duty stations — yet somehow still can’t seem to find his own socks. A proud Ohio fan, he’s currently in a lifelong standoff with his wife that kicks off every fall and ends sometime after the National Championship… depending, of course, on who wins.

⚓ Meet Candi — The Mom, the Navy Vet, the Captain of the Ship

Candi served four years in the U.S. Navy, including one Persian Gulf tour, and still runs her home like a ship at sea — even while facing health challenges. A die-hard Michigan fan, she proudly waves her maize and blue flag while pretending not to hear Jason’s enthusiastic “O-H!” from the couch.

Married for nearly 15 years, Candi and Jason have mastered the fine art of arguing over football, laughing through chaos, and pretending they have it all together.

🧢 Meet Blake — The Outdoorsman

Blake is their FFA-loving, outdoorsy kid who can bait a hook, haul hay, and is still trying to convince everyone that his rabbit and pig actually follow commands. (Spoiler alert: they don’t.)He’s the definition of hands-on and heart-first — hardworking, humble, and always ready for the next adventure.

👑 Meet Julia — The Country Princess

Then there’s Julia — the glitter-slinging, pink-loving, camo-rocking, floral-fan, belt-buckle-wearing country princess. “Western chic” is her vibe, and she wears it proudly. Julia brings the sparkle to the family’s grit, balancing out her brother’s muddy boots with a touch of rhinestone flair.

Together, the Cummings family proves that opposites attract, rival fans can share a couch, and love can conquer all… except maybe game day. 💙💛 > ❤️🖤 😉

As our first adopted family for Christmas 2025, the Cummings remind us what it means to laugh through life’s challenges, love through the chaos, and hold fast to hope — one cup of coffee and one family tradition at a time.
