Across America, thousands of veteran families are quietly fighting a devastating battle—one not on foreign soil, but right here at home. They are fighting to stay in the homes they sacrificed everything to earn. On August 15th, the KOVH Foundation is calling on every heart and every hand to take part in the National Day of Action—a powerful, unified stand for veteran housing justice.
This is not just a date on a calendar. It’s a movement. It’s a rally cry.
Why August 15th Matters
Veterans served this nation with unwavering courage, but when it comes time for them to receive protection in return—especially during times of housing crisis—many are met with silence, red tape, or foreclosure notices.
The National Day of Action was created by the KOVH Foundation (Keep Our Vets Housed) to raise awareness, build community power, and demand real change in the systems meant to protect our heroes.
It's a day to honor their sacrifices—not with parades, but with purpose.
How You Can Take Action in Your Community
Whether you’re a veteran, a spouse, an advocate, or simply someone who believes in justice—you have a part to play. Here are powerful ways you can help:
🏡 Host a Local Awareness Event
Gather your community at a local park, community center, or even your front yard. Share the stories of veteran families, read statistics, play music, and offer flyers. Use your voice to make their stories heard.
🖊️ Sign and Share the Petition
Help amplify the national petition calling for stronger veteran foreclosure protections and long-term housing assistance reform. Share it across all your platforms and encourage friends and family to sign: https://chng.it/y9kRx8ghWn
🎥 Go Live or Post a Video
Use TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube to tell the world why you're standing up for veterans. Whether it's a personal story, a poem, a song, or just your truth—your voice adds power to the movement.
🎗️ Wear Red, White, and Bold
Don your most patriotic gear and post a selfie or group photo using hashtags like #KOVHDayOfAction and #KeepOurVetsHoused to help spread awareness online. Create a ripple effect—what you post can inspire someone else to act.
📦 Build a “We’ve Got Your Back” Care Package
Assemble a small package of essentials, gift cards, or handwritten notes and deliver it to a veteran family or shelter in your area. KOVH’s We’ve Got Your Back initiative reminds struggling families that they are seen, loved, and not alone.
📣 Contact Your Legislators
Take 10 minutes to call or write your state and federal representatives. Demand protections for veteran homeowners and stronger support for VA foreclosure reform. Your voice can help shape policy.
Why KOVH Foundation?
Founded by Amy Tilley-Boyd—herself a veteran spouse fighting to save her home—the KOVH Foundation is the only nonprofit solely focused on the national epidemic of veteran family foreclosures.
KOVH gives families a lifeline of hope, support, advocacy, and action when they feel the world has turned its back.
By supporting KOVH, you are directly helping families stay in their homes, access critical resources, and fight back with dignity.
This August 15th, Let’s Make Noise
This is our moment. One day. One nation. One mission: Keep Our Vets Housed.
Let August 15th be the day your community sees the heart of a soldier in every neighbor, every parent, and every child fighting to stay safe and housed. Let it be the day we say, “We see you. We hear you. We’ve got your back.”
