Join Us for the Week of RED – August 10–16!

A Week of Fun, Challenges, and Action to Keep Our Vets Housed

PALMDALE, CA – The KOVH (Keep Our Vets Housed) Foundation is rallying supporters nationwide for the Week of RED — seven days of friendly competitions, streaming events, and grassroots activism to protect veteran families from losing their homes.

From August 10–16, 2025, participants will take part in themed daily challenges, earn points toward prizes, and amplify the urgent fight for veteran housing justice.

Spotlight: August 15 – National Day of Action

The National Day of Action is the heart of the Week of RED — a unified, nationwide call to defend veterans’ housing rights. On August 15, supporters will:

• Wear RED to show solidarity

• Join our online rally to share stories and demand change

• Flood social media with awareness posts

• Contact lawmakers to push for housing protections

This day is more than symbolic — it’s a direct action to pressure leaders, educate communities, and show that the fight to keep veterans housed will not be ignored.

Event Schedule at a Glance

August 10 – Wear RED & Share. Post a selfie wearing RED with #WeekOfRED & #KeepOurVetsHoused, tag 3 friends and @pappyintheword. (2 pts each)🎮 Special Stream: FordFarmingPower (All day)

August 11 – KOVH 1HR Hunting Competition1-hour gaming challenge with points for top 3 hunters.

August 12 – Boot Camp Brain Busters. Twitch trivia night with points for each correct answer and “super word” bonuses.

August 13 – Recruit an Ally! Bring in new supporters via Discord, social follows, or Twitch subscriptions.

August 14 – FS22 KOVH Farming Challenge. Compete in the ultimate farming showdown — winner gets 30 points.

August 15 – NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION. Wear RED, rally online, post on social, and call lawmakers.🎮 All-day streams: FordFarmingPower → Grump Old Pappy → FordFarmingPower

August 16 – Social Media Takeover! Post #SilentCrisis & #KeepOurVetsHoused in graphics/reels (tag @pappyintheword) to earn points.

Why It Matters

Veteran families across the country are facing foreclosure at alarming rates, especially after the end of key VA housing programs like the Veterans Affairs Servicing Purchase (VASP). The Week of RED and National Day of Action are about mobilizing voices, increasing visibility, and demanding concrete solutions so no veteran is left without a home.
