KOVH Foundation Launches Nationwide State Ambassador Program as Veteran Foreclosure Protections Collapse
Palmdale, CA — [Insert Date] — As the Trump administration officially terminates the VASP (VA Servicing Purchase) program today, and with all FHA mortgage relief options scheduled to end by September 1st, the KOVH Foundation is taking urgent grassroots action to protect veteran families from a looming housing crisis. The nonprofit has launched the State Ambassador Program, a nationwide effort to recruit, train, and deploy advocates in all 50 states to serve as watchdogs, educators, and defenders of veterans facing foreclosure.
“With VASP eliminated and no safety net left for struggling veteran homeowners, we are staring down a national emergency,” said Amy Tilley-Boyd, Navy wife and founder of the KOVH Foundation. “This isn’t just policy failure — it’s abandonment. KOVH is stepping in where leadership has failed.”
A National Mission, One State at a Time
The KOVH State Ambassador Program is a coordinated effort to ensure every state has a trained advocate working with local leaders, nonprofits, and vulnerable veterans. Ambassadors will serve as the voice of KOVH in their communities — raising awareness, building partnerships, and connecting families to emergency support.
Responsibilities include:
Educating the public on the VA foreclosure crisis
Partnering with nonprofits and housing agencies
Working with local legislators and VA offices
Reporting housing trends and advocacy data to KOVH national staff
A Grassroots Response to a Policy Breakdown
With today's termination of the VASP (VA Servicing Purchase) program, the VA has stripped away its last internal tool designed to help veterans retain their homes. Compounding the crisis, FHA's remaining COVID-era mortgage relief programs will expire on September 1, 2025, ending key protections for thousands of low-to-moderate income homeowners — many of them veterans.
“These programs were lifelines,” said Tilley-Boyd. “Without them, more families will be forced into foreclosure, often without notice or recourse. That’s why we need eyes and voices in every state. We need to fight back.”
