Official Statement from the Keep Our Vets Housed (KOVH) Foundation Regarding the Federal Government Shutdown

On behalf of the KOVH Foundation, we recognize that the federal government shutdown deeply impacts millions of Americans, but for our nation’s veterans and their families, the burden can be especially heavy.

Many veterans rely on timely federal services, benefits, and assistance programs that are placed at risk during a shutdown. Families already facing the challenges of housing insecurity and financial strain now face even greater uncertainty. For those living paycheck to paycheck or already in crisis, delays in support can mean the difference between stability and the very real threat of foreclosure or homelessness.

The KOVH Foundation was created to ensure that no veteran family stands alone in these moments of hardship. We call upon our elected leaders to prioritize swift action that minimizes harm to those who have sacrificed in service to our country. At the same time, we remain steadfast in our mission: raising awareness, advocating for protective policies, and providing support to veteran families so that housing insecurity does not become yet another hidden cost of this shutdown.

To our veteran community: you are not forgotten. To our partners and supporters: we urge continued compassion and vigilance during this time. Together, we will continue to push for solutions that uphold the dignity, security, and stability our veterans and their families have earned.
