Stronger Together

More and more we live in a world that is trying to divide us into smaller and smaller groups. A world that wants to separate us and keep us from learning and growing together. Yet the Bible teaches that we are indeed stronger when two or more of us work together.

After all, like Proverbs 27:17 teaches; “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” This is done when we take time to teach and learn from one another. Knowledge is gained by testing what we are taught and expanding upon what our mentors have taught us at each stage of our development. We chose friends who help challenge us in our day-to-day journeys so that we stay grounded and on track towards our goals and plans in life.

A couple of books over in Ecclesiastes 4:11-12 we read: “Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” We again see that two or more people working together can pull off and accomplish amazing things. It doesn’t matter what the challenge is, if we stand together, we can make a difference in the lives of each other as well as those that we work together to help along life’s journey.

When I met Amy from Keep Our Vets Housed, I discovered a kindred spirit in someone who like me wants to make a difference in the lives of those whom we want to inspire through the work that she is doing through her organization. That’s why I am volunteering my services as a Minister to work with her as a Chaplain for her group to help with any Spiritual Questions that may pop up from time to time, (And yes, I know I misspelled chaplain in my name when I added it to my nickname. After I had set up an email account for the name, I realized what I had done and decided I was keeping it).  Like the verses I mentioned above I believe that my standing with Keep Our Vets Housed will be beneficial not just as we grow our friendship but also in the long run as we work together to help our Veteran Families. Families who depend on the organization that Amy is building for support in dealing with the growing foreclosure crisis that is taking its toll on our Vets and their families.

While I am only one of many who has stood up to help Keep Our Vets Housed spread the word about it’s mission, I hope and pray that I will not be the last of many who will stand up and join the movement of KOVH and the mission to help those families that have come to depend on Amy and the mission she has started. I hope that no matter what your religious beliefs and practices are, you will join me in supporting the mission of KOVH. Whether it’s sharing the petition, reposting videos from TIKTOK, or YouTube, and information from the Website as well as Facebook or donating to help keep the cause going, please consider how you can help my friend and her mission to help those that sacrificed so much for all of us. Or joining her when she is live on TIKTOK and Twitch.

I look forward to meeting and talking with many of you in the weeks and months to come. Just remember we are Stronger Together. By lifting each other up and being there to allow others to lean upon us when they are struggling and need us to just sit with them while they share their troubles and pain.
