When the Mission Comes Home: The Fight to Keep Veteran Families Housed

When we send our men and women off to serve this country, we make a promise—not just to them, but to their families. A promise that their sacrifice will be honored, their service respected, and their return home met with the stability and security they’ve earned. But right now, that promise is being broken.
Across the nation, veteran families are quietly slipping through the cracks. Foreclosures are rising. Mortgage protections are expiring. And while the news cycle has moved on, the crisis hasn’t.
At the KOVH Foundation, we stand on the front lines of this silent war—advocating, supporting, and fighting to Keep Our Vets Housed.
🧨 Urgency Is Building
On September 1st, critical mortgage protections for VA-backed and FHA loans will disappear. These were the very programs keeping roofs over the heads of families who’ve already sacrificed so much.
What’s worse? This all happens just as children head back to school—when families should be focused on pencils, backpacks, and lunch boxes, not foreclosure notices.
This isn’t just a financial crisis. It’s a moral one.
💌 What We’re Doing
Through our "We've Got Your Backs" Recovery Care Packages, the Veterans Housing Justice Ambassador Program, and our August 15th National Day of Action, we’re sounding the alarm and offering real support to those in danger of losing it all.
These efforts are funded by grassroots supporters like you. We don’t have a big corporate donor. We don’t have millions in grants. What we do have is heart, hustle, and an unshakable commitment to the veteran families we serve.

❤️ This Is Personal
KOVH isn’t just an organization—it’s a battle cry born from lived experience. Our founder, a Navy wife and mother, has been fighting her own VA foreclosure battle for nearly a decade. She turned that pain into purpose—and today, we carry that torch to every veteran family we serve.
Because no veteran should have to fight another war just to keep their home.
📣 Stand with us. Fight for them. Let’s Keep Our Vets Housed.
“No Veteran Left Behind—Not on the Battlefield, Not in Foreclosure.”
